Lawrence Gallery is proud to present “Odyssey” a cycle of 12 hand-woven tapestries by Artemis.  These vibrant, abstract tapestries, woven from wool, cotton and viscose, chronicle the life of Odysseus, the protagonist of Homer’s epic.  Artemis completed this series over the course of ten years, during the daylight hours on her home in the Greek island of Tinos, weaving on a vertical loom.  Since 1984, Artemis’ work has been exhibited across Europe, with solo exhibitions in Switzerland, Austria and Belgium, as well as Liechtenstein.  In 2005 she had her first American exhibition at the Onassis Cultural Center in New York City.
